Stop Being Selfish & Defining Fitness for Others

As a personal trainer, I see many people doing different workouts in the gym. Some do cardio, some are into powerlifting, many into bodybuilding and many more.

However, just because you’re into powerlifting or bodybuilding doesn’t mean fitness is only powerlifting and bodybuilding. You’re only seeing the world through your lens.

But fitness is not one size fits all.

For some, it might mean

  • lifting heavy weights on deadlifts
  • doing muscle ups
  • doing push-ups
  • being lean and having a six-pack

For others, it might be as simple as:

  • being able to carry their baby around without getting out of breath
  • being able to walk up the stairs without any pain
  • doing daily physical tasks without difficulty
  • carrying all the groceries from their car to the kitchen at once.
  • being able to play with their kids

So don’t define fitness through your lens; everyone has different goals, and not everyone is you
